Bruckner Symphony No. 9 (Abbado & BPO)

1 comment:

  1. Anton Bruckner's 9th Symphony, interpreted by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Claudio Abbado directing. Bruckner is an acquired taste because his symphonies are slow in developing and long. They are not easy listening, but they are magnificent, and leave the listener with a sense of satisfaction that lighter and easier works do not. Today Bruckner is considered one of the legitimate heirs to Beethoven in the area of the symphony. His symphonies are like Bach's music in the sense that they deal with the very nature of creation and God's work. Bruckner, like Bach, was a man of deep Christian convictions, and composed his music to the glory of God. Gabe Meruelo.
