  1. Fritz Wunderlich sings Franz Schubert's "An Die Music;" Lieders were an ideal medium for Schubert to use his extraordinary gift of melody. He was the one of the foremost (if not the foremost) composer of the German Lieder. Gabe Meruelo.

  2. Fritz Wunderlich died accidentally when he fell down a staircase due to some improperly tied shoelaces in a friend's cottage while on a hunting vacation. He was only a few weeks away from his debut at the New York Metropolitan. He was only 35 years old and had a promising career ahead.
