Glenn Gould plays Grieg's Piano Sonata in E Minor, Op. 7; Allegro Moderato. Gould could play a romantic composer with as much virtuosity as he could Bach. When in Russia he also attempted to introduce the Russian audiences to the music of Schoemberg and the Second Viennese School (unsuccessfully); they considered it too far out. But thanks to Gould they were introduced to -and loved it- the music of Bach, whom they had previously considered a true "churchy" (meaning Christian) composer. Gabe Meruelo.
